Kevin Durant = The Next Big Thing?

For the past seven years, all we've heard about in the Basketball World is four names. Kobe Bryant, Lebron James, Carmelo Anthony, and Dwayne Wade. Now there's a new name everyone is talking about lately, his name is Kevin Durant.

In the 2007-2008 season, Durant led all Rookies in scoring, and broke the Seattle Supersonics(now Oklahoma City Thunder) all-time PPG avg for a rookie player made by Bob Rule in the 1967-68 season by averaging 20.5 PPG. Durant would end up winning Rookie of the Year in 2007-2008.

This year, Kevin Durant is tied overall with Carmelo Anthony for first in PPG with 29.7, and has had 25+ points in twenty two straight games. He continues to dominate teams on the boards, leading the Thunder to a potential playoff spot for the first time since 1996.

In the end, Durant is opening a lot of peoples eyes, and doing the same exact thing Lebron James did to the Cleveland Cavaliers in 2003. Turning the Oklahoma City franchise around, and becoming a very important central piece in the success of the Thunder.
